Nothing is stored. CiggyStats keeps no database. We do not store your answers, we do not store your email address, and we set no cookies. There is no account to create and nothing here is for sale.
How the calculator works
The calculator runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent anywhere unless you ask for an email report. Because smoking habits are health information, we only process them for the report with your explicit consent.
The email report
When you request a report, we send your answers and email address to our email provider to deliver one message. We do not store your answers or add you to a mailing list.
Your email address is used once, to send that message, and is not kept afterwards. It is never sold, shared or used to contact you again. If you want a second report, you simply ask for one.
Cookies
We set no cookies of any kind, and we use no analytics or tracking tools.
One preference is saved on your own device: the language you choose, so the site opens in it next time. It stays in your browser, is never sent to us, and disappears if you clear your browsing data.
Advertising
CiggyStats currently shows no advertising and runs no advertising scripts. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first and you will be asked before any advertising cookie is set.
Sharing a link
If you copy the share link, your answers are contained in the link itself. That link is yours to keep or send; treat it as you would any personal note.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard technical request records (such as IP address and time of request) in order to serve pages and prevent abuse. We do not use those records to identify you and never connect them to anything you type into the calculator.
Donations
CiggyStats is free and stays free. Every figure and every report is available to everyone at no charge.
If you choose to send money through the “Buy me a coffee” link, it is a voluntary gift towards the time of the person who built the site. Nothing is sold, nothing is unlocked, and you receive nothing in exchange. Payments are handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee and Stripe; we never see your card details.
Children
CiggyStats is not intended for anyone under 16.
Not medical or financial advice
CiggyStats is an awareness tool. Every figure is a published population average applied to the numbers you enter, not a measurement or a prediction about you. Sources are listed on the site. For anything that matters, speak to a doctor, a pharmacist or a qualified adviser.
